Frequently asked questions

FAQs: HAND PAINTED POTS

  1. Can I directly plant into the pot?

Yes. You can directly plant into the pot. Since my pots are thoroughly primed and sealed with water resistant sealer, it prevents the paints from getting damaged. However, I would highly recommend that you plant inside a nursery pot This will increase longevity of the paints of your hand-painted pot and keep your pot good as new. For more detailed information, please read my blog on how to pot a plant in your hand painted pot.

  2. What type of plant should I plant?

I would recommend that you choose the plants that do not require a lot of water. The plants like cacti/succulents are perfect for your hand painted pot.

  3. How do I care for my new pot?

The pot will come with care instructions. But regular dusting and wiping with soft tissue like everything else in the house will be good for your pot too. In addition, you should avoid your pot from exposure to excessive heat and water. Even if the pot is sealed from inside and outside, too much heat and water can damage the paints.

  4. Is the pot meant for indoor or outdoor use?

The pot is suitable for indoor and outdoor use in a dry place since it is UV and water resistant. I use very high quality paints, however even very highest quality paints can fade and damage overtime with exposure to sun and water. So if you want your pot to last long, I would recommend to keep it in a dry place indoors. It will also help add color to your home décor.

  5. What materials do you use?

I use good quality Italian terracotta pots and saucers, white primer suitable for interior and exterior paints, eco friendly water soluble paints and use UV and water resistant sealer as a top coat to protect the paints from getting damaged.

  6. Who paints these pots? Will I get exactly same design for my pot as listed?

I paint each and every order that comes through my inbox, myself, with a lot of love and care. I make sure that I match the design exactly as much as possible as listed. However, slight variations to the design may be possible since each and every pot is hand painted. I do not use any stencils or machines to paint my pots. Nevertheless, please be assured that the pot will be exactly same color and beautifully painted and designed such that you will not be able to spot any difference.

  7. When will I receive my pot?

Although I try to keep pots in stock and available for quick dispatch this may not always be possible so please note that there can be a 3 -5 day lead time allowing time for your pot to be carefully and lovingly primed, painted and sealed. Once dispatched it may take up to 5-10 days for it to reach you if you live within Australia. It may take longer if you are based in rural parts of Australia. It may take up to 6 weeks with international shipping.

  8. Do you offer free shipping both nationally and internationally?

We offer free shipping for all our hand painted pots Australia wide, however due to heavier nature of the terracotta pots we can not offer free shipping for international orders. Please see details in Shipping and returns section here.
