To be an artist is to believe in life.

My story as an artist

Hi, I’m Meg.

I’m an Australian wildlife artist, based in Brisbane, immensely inspired by art and artists all around the world.

Art was a constant feature of my childhood years and I always sought opportunities to create and explore with paint, clay, crayons, charcoals, anything I could get my hands on.

As a young adult, my academic pursuits took priority over creativity and my love of art took a backseat for several years. I migrated to Australia in 2005, completed higher studies, and worked as a physiotherapist for around ten years.

But my passion for art couldn’t be ignored and so I took a break from my career to pursue and explore my creative expression.

As an emerging artist, I engaged in self-learning opportunities including online courses and weekend workshops to develop my skills. In 2019, I started exhibiting my artworks in galleries and immersed myself in the local art community. And by 2020, I launched my fine art business ‘Meg Fine Art’.

Landscapes and wildlife are my favourite subjects to paint. As an Australian wildlife artist, wildlife conservation is dear to my heart, and I believe that the best way to bring change is through awareness, which I hope to do through my artwork. I’m also inspired by everyday life around me and creating pieces that others can relate to and find meaning in. I believe that art has the power to connect us to deeper life experiences, and I hope to express that message through my work.

While most of my pieces have a realistic style, I also play with abstracts and textures, using a combination of palette knife and brush to bring a personal and unique style to my work. I primarily paint with oils and acrylics and also use charcoal pencils for pet portraits and other pieces. My art reproductions are printed with archival inks on cotton rag paper and juniper paper.

I strongly believe, Art is a process of continuous learning, curiosity and exploration. This belief has helped me dive into creating a broader range of products like my cute and colorful hand painted planters. I look forward to continuing this journey and evolving my own style and creative expression. I also look forward to connecting with you and hope you will find a meaningful piece of artwork or a gift item that you can add to your home.
